During our time with it, this SUV proved to be impressive for its price and solid all-around.

On The Road

The model that we spent our time with was the top of the range 1.5L Turbo Elite SE CVT version. This vehicle costs R364 900, a reasonable price when you consider that it clearly aims for high aspirations. The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro excels when you focus on its comfortable drive. The turbo engine allows for rapid acceleration in eco mode and is even more notable once you press the sport button. However, the top speed does feel a bit limited once you hit 100km/h. Even so, reaching this is easy thanks to the effective CVT transmission. It must also be noted that driving at night is stress-free thanks to the phenomenal LED headlamps with Crystal Diamond Lenses.

On The Inside and Outside

Taking a glance at the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro from the outside reveals an SUV that is unquestionably visually attractive. It appears to be more expensive than it is, a quality that is maintained with regard to many internal elements. Once inside, the leather seats are undoubtedly well-made and the 7-inch LCD instrument display is a welcome alternative to the regular speedometer. Some of the components are basic but there is enough helpful technology to make every trip an enjoyable one. Furthermore, the rearview camera is extremely helpful and allows for smooth parking. With all this in mind, the affordable price point must be remembered as Chery has done a lot with the budget at hand.
