Known for their distinctive designs and cutting-edge engineering, Citroën have made their way back to South Africa with the energetic C3, a car that is destined to make an impact.

The drive
Getting into the driver’s seat of the C3 was rather surprising for me as I did not know what to expect. I soon discovered that the vehicle sports a 1.2 litre turbo charged motor, accelerating from 0-100 in approximately 9.4 seconds.

Alongside this, the 81kW engine delivered an average of 8.8l/100km during my everyday commute from home to the office and back. The overall driving experience was very impressive; however, I think that some refinement with the fuel economy would have further improved the car.

What’s on the inside?

The C3 has all the enhancements that one would look for in this vehicle segment. To begin, a 7” touchscreen tablet has been installed, letting the driver access almost every feature of the car, from the temperature of the aircon to the stop-start function. Beyond the technology, the sophisticated exterior has also made its way to the inside, providing passengers with a beautiful interior to experience.

What about safety?
The C3 is a well-balanced car that goes around corners comfortably and handles well on the road. You will feel at ease behind the wheel, especially considering that it is fitted with ABS brakes, 6 airbags, ASC, brake assist and a tyre pressure monitor.

The final verdict
Citroën has always given the consumer interesting models to choose from. Thankfully, they have delivered yet again. Although the fuel efficiency could have been better, the vehicle was a pleasure to drive and I truly believe that it would be a good fit for just about anyone.
