Jeep have launched the new Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which they claim is the most powerful and quickest SUV Ever. Built in Detroit at the Jefferson Avenue North Assembly Plant in Detroit Michigan and injected with an unmatched 522 KW of power and 875 NM of torque, courtesy of an awe-inspiring supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine, the most awarded SUV ever and the most capable full-size SUV on the planet has been transformed into the most powerful and quickest SUV ever.

The supercharger is sealed for life with premium synthetic oil, it uses a drive ratio of 2.36:1 and has a maximum power revs of 14,600 RPM. The supercharger drive system's one-way clutch de-coupler improves refinement, while allowing for precisely the kind of powerful sound certain to captivate Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk drivers. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is equipped with the Jeep Quadra-Trac on-demand four-wheel-drive system, which includes an electronic limited-slip rear differential and a single-speed active transfer case. The new, full-time active transfer case uses forged steel chain sprockets and a wider chain for added strength and durability.

Looking at the specs from Jeep, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, is the quickest production SUV ever: covering the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.5 seconds, the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h. Launch Control, fitted as standard, optimizes the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk's performance by coordinating the engine, transmission, driveline and suspension for a textbook launch and consistent straight-line acceleration. When it comes to scrubbing off speed, the new Brembo braking system which includes largest-ever front brakes on a Jeep® vehicle, will stop the Trackhawk in just 35 m (114 feet). Quite amazing for a SUV.

New as standard 20 x 10-inch Titanium-finish wheels expose the distinctive yellow Brembo brake calipers. The upgraded TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and driveline components are engineered to handle additional torque output, with the five drive-mode Selec-Track system and Bilstein adaptive damping suspension gives the Jeep a comfortable ride. The Selec-Track system on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk uses performance-tuned software to pre-configure and distinguish the five dynamic modes, including; Auto, Sport, Track, Snow and Tow, enabling drivers to choose a vehicle setting that ideally meets their requirements and ambient conditions. The drive modes separately control the four-wheel-drive system, transmission, paddle shifters, suspension and the electric power steering.
